Have you ever wondered what it's like to serve in the military, navigate the complexities of law enforcement, and then transition into the world of professional photography? If so, you're in for a treat! I’m excited to announce the launch of my brand-new podcast that dives deep into these fascinating and often contrasting worlds.

The podcast, aptly named Trading Holsters, offers a unique perspective on life in the military, the challenges and rewards of law enforcement, and the artistic journey of becoming a professional photographer. But that's not all— episodes will also feature insightful conversations with guests from all three fields, sharing their stories, wisdom, and experiences.

My Setup.

A Glimpse into My Journey

Before I picked up a camera professionally, I spent years serving in the Army and then working as a law enforcement officer. Both of these careers shaped me in profound ways, teaching me discipline, perseverance, and resilience. My time in the Army took me to some of the world’s most challenging environments, while my career in law enforcement taught me how to think critically, act decisively, and understand the human side of conflict and resolution.

However, my transition to photography opened an entirely new chapter in my life. It allowed me to channel my experiences and skills into a creative outlet, capturing the world in a way that tells stories through images. Photography became not just a profession but a way to process and express the complexities I had experienced throughout my career.

What the Podcast Offers

Trading Holsters is not just about me and my journey; it’s about giving listeners an inside look into the world of those who have worked in high-stakes environments—whether it’s in areas of conflict, on the streets of our cities, or behind the lens of a camera.

Through conversations with my guests, we will explore:

  1. Lessons Learned in the Army: How military training and experiences shape the way we approach life, leadership, and challenges.

  2. The Realities of Law Enforcement: What it’s like to work in law enforcement, the highs and lows, and their impact on personal and professional lives.

  3. Photography as a Creative Outlet: How photography became a therapeutic and artistic expression for me and how others have used photography to document, reflect, and create.

  4. Insights from Industry Experts: From fellow veterans and officers to professional photographers, the podcast will feature a diverse lineup of guests who will share their stories, challenges, and triumphs.

A Diverse Range of Guests

Throughout this podcast, I'll be inviting guests from all three fields to share their experiences, insights, and advice. You’ll hear from fellow veterans who have transitioned into civilian careers, police officers who offer a raw and honest take on the realities of law enforcement, and photographers who found their way to the art form through unconventional paths.

Each guest will bring a fresh perspective, adding depth to the discussions and enriching the understanding of how these fields can shape one's worldview, personal growth, and approach to creativity.
